ORE Catapult is the UK''s flagship technology and innovation research centre, for offshore wind, wave and tidal energy. We combine world-class research, development, demonstration and testing facilities with leadership, industrial reach and engineering expertise, to accelerate the design, deployment and commercialisation of renewable energy technologies.

We provide open-access test and validation services for turbines, blades and electrical infrastructure. We create new knowledge by conducting research and development developing and testing new concepts and prototype technology. Working with academia and industry we translate knowledge creation and R&D activities, into tools that address industry’s specific technical needs and fill information gaps in the market. Our unique position allows us to be an objective information broker within industry, contributing to the national and international policy dialogue. We are keen to pull technology and process best practice across from other markets, particularly Oil & Gas, in areas such as subsea engineering, autonomous systems, subsea electrical infrastructure, sensor technology, asset surveillance and inspection, foundations and moorings. With all these the focus for renewables is to drive down CAPEX and OPEX costs.
