Law at Work - Mock Tribunals

Law at Work - Mock Tribunals

03 October-15 November 2018

"If you can’t even give people a compliment these days then the world has gone completely mad… This is a complete overreaction. I’m being made a scapegoat because of all of this #metoo nonsense.”

This is a quote from Christian Fox during his disciplinary hearing. He was a renowned architect and the head of his office until one ill-fated work party saw him accused of the sexual harassment of a trainee. With no witnesses to the incident, it was his word against hers. However, aware of the potential impact on their reputation, the firm took the decision to dismiss, taking into account his behaviour around the office and an infamous ‘gym selfie’. Now Christian has raised a claim for unfair dismissal. Has Christian been made an example of or did the firm act reasonably in dismissing?

This thought provoking and entertaining event will provide expert insight into what it is really like to give evidence at a Tribunal. It will get under the skin of how management decisions, and the way they are interpreted, can result in claims.

This is a must attend event for line managers of any level seeking to improve their knowledge of the tribunal process.

This event includes a light lunch on arrival and a drinks reception to close, if you have any dietary requirements please do not hesitate to get in touch on 0141 271 5555.
