Ghana - Trade Mission

Ghana - Trade Mission

26-30 November 2018

Ghana is seen by many as the gateway to the oil and gas sector in West Africa, not only providing an excellent opportunity in and of itself, but also being a great way to introduce yourself to the region.

Market Opportunities
There has never been a better time to consider doing business in Ghana.

With a positive resolution to the maritime dispute with Cote d'lvoire and a stabilisation in crude prices, Ghana is seeing a sharp increase in activity. It has been announced that ExxonMobil, the first super major to enter the market, will be doing so in the coming years. Aker Energy have recently taken over the assets of Hess, with ENI and Tullow both significantly increasing activity.

Demand for Scottish services in Ghana can clearly be seen, with a record breaking delegation visiting Aberdeen (approx. 100 delegates) in June, including the Chairman and CEO of the Ghana Petroleum Commission as well as the Ghanaian Deputy Energy Minister. Another visit took place in February around Subsea Expo, with similar success.

Eligibility Criteria
Places on the trade mission will be allocated to companies currently working with Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Development International or Business Gateway as well as appropriate Scottish academic institutions. Any remaining places on the mission will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
