Subsea 7 are looking to expand their Pipeline Engineering team, based within the Central Engineering Department in our Arnhall campus site.

You would be joining a professional group of Engineers with an exceptional work ethic and team sharing mentality, working in one of the most diverse and challenging industries in the world.  The team provides a key function to the business supporting with Pipeline design and analysis as well as vital input in the tendering process.

    Provide relevant skills, integrity and knowledge in key areas of subsea rigid pipeline and spools engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice
    Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to Drawing Office, design calculations, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third party / Client submissions
    Provide rigid pipeline and spools engineering support to pipeline installation analyses and procedures
    Provide rigid pipeline / spools engineering support to Tendering, Projects, Field Development and other stakeholders
    Design and detail in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards and design guides, client specifications and scopes of work
    Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, calculations, MTO, software models, etc.
    Provide calculations for subsea rigid pipelines and spools using available tools and software such as Abaqus, Caesar, Orcaflex, DNV tools, in-house spreadsheets or similar software
    Provide rigid pipeline and spools engineering support for the execution of multi-discipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule
    Liaise with associated disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project
    Provide rigid pipeline and spools engineering assistance during occasional periods of travel including offshore, site working, at other Subsea 7 offices, Client, vendor or Third Party premises
    Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development

    Experience in R&D and Technology Development applicable to position

    The candidate is required to have previous relevant experience within the Engineering discipline. Some of which should be within oil & gas or related sectors
    Knowledge of subsea rigid pipeline / spools engineering, including design codes, standards and applicable software tool.
    Experience of FEA based design and analysis of rigid pipelines, preferably using ABAQUS or similar software
    Experience of tie-in spool design, preferably using CAESAR II or similar software
    Experience in the production of MTO, Scopes of Work, procurement and fabrication support for linepipe, bends, flanges, fittings, etc. applicable to rigid pipelines and tie-in spools
    Scripting Experience (Python, VBA) or general software development and programming knowledge advantageous
    Understanding of Subsea rigid pipeline / spools installation methods
    Relevant offshore experience

Specific Job Related Requirements
    Based in The Arnhall Campus in Westhill, near Aberdeen
    Occasional travel to Subsea 7 offices and sites
    Possible offshore trips
