Our client, a key NSUK operator, is currently seeking a Subsea Engineer, with previous experience in a similar role with an oil and gas operator.

Reporting to the Lead Subsea Engineer, this is primarily an onshore role, however occasional offshore visits may be required.

The primary function of this role is to assist the Lead Subsea Engineer and provide support to the mobile drilling and intervention campaigns as required. This could involve new well development as well as abandonment activities.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Ensure safety specifications for wells equipment and well operations are reached and/or maintained.
Participate in the design and choice of new subsea trees and completion equipment, taking into account the QA/QC concern during subsea campaign
Organise pre-job meetings and risk assessment as required
Supervise specialist contractors activities
Report problems and investigations results and review the programmes of operations
Accountable for the execution of operations according to the written procedures
Preparation and supervision of the subsea operations including:

o Engineering of the subsea projects (completion and xmas tree)
o Plan, prepare and assist in management of the subsea campaign
o Follow-up of the subsea wells (post well construction and during service life)
o Provide expertise on subsea completion and subsea well servicing interventions
o Plan for the subsea wells abandonment programme follow-up and realisation
o Act as engineer in-charge/responsible for discipline specific, subsea interventions jobs (e.g. equipment replacement)
o A degree in a technical/engineering discipline or equivalent experience is essential for this role.
o Candidates must ideally also be fully certified by a recognised Well Control Authority for drilling activities e.g. IWCF, WELLCAP to Subsea Supervisor level and possess Offshore Survival Training Certificate, UK Medical and MIST.
o Essential experience, knowledge and skills include:
o Experience in a similar role with an oil and gas operator.
o Previous experience in on & offshore roles
o Demonstrate a good technical knowledge in the Wells Subsea area (subsea wellheads, vertical and horizontal Xmas trees plus associated tooling, including Completion / Workover riser systems)
o Good working knowledge of internal and external rules, standards and procedures in the fluids and environmental areas, and be trained to level appropriate to statutory regulations
o Proven planning, management and negotiation skills
o Proven relationship-builder internally and externally
o Preferred experience:
o A career history that includes significant service with an OEM of subsea Xmas tree and wellhead equipment.
