Full description:

To support the enhancement, develop and grow the National Composites Centres sales and customer base, projects and activities through the engagement with customer’s in-line with existing, imminent and future industry need and global opportunity, helping the UK to capture its market share.
o    Develop new, sector, markets,  current customers
o    To increase the NCC’s income
o    Manage member and key exist/potential customer relationships

Main Activities:

Responsible for supporting the Market Development Leads in market-making, winning work and customer relationship management in assigned sector.


o    identify opportunities for composite application and develop engagement strategy for assigned sector and industries
o    Evaluate sector supply chain requirements, identify technology and process gaps and develop strategies to support OEMs and supply chain companies in their development programmes, by working with the NCC.
o    Develop NCC ‘offerings’ relevant to sector(s), including technical support, project development, training programmes and other solutions.
o    Develop existing and new collaborative relationships with Universities and other RTO’s to champion the advancement of new technology and manufacturing processes in line with project need and the NCC Technology, Sector, Capability aligned roadmaps.   
o    influencing government, funders and standards by participating in working groups and sector bodies where necessary

Winning Work
o    Engagement with the assigned sector OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers to pro-actively identify where the NCC can add value to increase the NCC revenue to meet the NCC business sector targets.
o    Identify and assist in forming collaborations, consortia and large projects, including work at the NCC.
o    Seeking new opportunities from existing customers, within and beyond the existing relationship.
Customer Relationship Management
o    Ensuring customer relationship are well management and that the NCC service is seen as ‘excellent’ by the customer, in assigned sector.
o    Working closely with the responsible TMPs and Capability interfaces, ensuring the NCC is seen as strong team, supporting customer requirements and needs.
o    Maximising project activity through developing insights of customers’ business, structure and needs and identifying opportunities and solutions (with support from capability teams where appropriate).

NCC Strategic Growth
o    Definition of strategic direction for assigned sector activity at the NCC, owning the Sector roadmap and relationships for the assigned sector
o    Making sector knowledge accessible to the wider NCC to support the setting of the wider NCC strategic plan, for winning work, developing relationships, and  for capability planning and growth.
