International project services consultancy, Cambla, has sponsored Grampian Tigers Youth Cycle Club for the third consecutive year.

The Cycle Club offers structured cycling sessions for 7-15 year olds and follows the principles of Go-Ride, British Cycling’s Club Development Programme aimed at improving young riders.
The sponsorship will help to maintain and increase the necessary and complementary qualifications for each coach and support the training of new coaches.

Alexander MacLeod, founder of Cambla, said: "I’m delighted that Cambla can give something back to young people in the local community. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed supporting the club over the past three years and seeing the difference that sponsorship can make to a small, not-for-profit youth club.

"I personally really enjoy cycling and wanted to help local youngsters enjoy it too. The Tigers do a great job of getting kids on their bikes, teaching them valuable safety skills and lending bikes to youngsters who are just getting started.”

Graham Watson, a coach at Grampian Tigers, commented on the importance of sponsorship for the club: "We’re extremely grateful for Cambla’s continued support which allows us to train all of our cycling coaches to the minimum required, British Cycling Level Two, but also to provide additional qualifications in specialist disciplines such as mountain biking, track and road cycling.

"The sponsorship has also supported the club in its growth, allowing us to provide more facilities for the kids including new bikes and equipment and a wider variety of sessions, as well as funding our annual Tigers Dirt Crit race.”

The Club runs structured sessions in the spring/summer months on a Monday evening in Aberdeen and on a Saturday morning in Stonehaven. More information can be found at www.grampiantigers.org.
