Ocean Installer has won a contract for deepwater umbilicals, flowlines and risers (UFR) installation work offshore Congo (Brazaville)

The Norway-headquartered subsea company has been awarded the contract by Total E&P Congo at the Moho Nord field. The contract is Ocean Installerís first major operation in West Africa following the creation of the companyís Africa, Mediterranean and Middle East regional office in the second half of 2014.

The project will see Ocean Installer install and pre-commission an umbilical, multi-phase pump, flying leads and spools in water depths of around 1,000 metres. The scope of work includes project management, engineering and logistics, in addition to the offshore work.

The project will be managed from Ocean Installerís head office in Stavanger, Norway while the high capacity DP3 construction support vessel Normand Vision will be utilised for the offshore execution.
The Moho Nord field is located 75 km off the coast of Congo (Brazzaville) in water depths ranging from 450 to 1200 metres. Total E&P Congo has 53.5 per cent operator interest, alongside Chevron (31.5 per cent) and state-owned Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo (15 per cent).
