Royal IHC’s Engineering Business (IHC EB) has decided to relocate their entire UK manufacture and assembly capability to the Port of Blyth, Northumberland. IHC EB presently operates two manufacturing/assembly facilities in the North East of England. The move to a single site will be completed early in 2016.

"The decision to move to a single site operation was largely driven by the uncertainly in the oil and gas industry in the short to medium term. However, consolidating to the Port of Blyth site supports our strategy of offering our clients a full suite of products and services to support their operational demands. We have taken their requirements into consideration and the new facility will offer us a greater degree of flexibility. It allows us to comfortably deliver very large complex projects, smaller fast track items and provide rapid response lifecycle support; be that remote technical assistance, on-board operational support, repair, maintenance or service,” says IHC EB’s Managing Director Paul Hardisty.

Martin Lawlor, Port of Blyth CEO stated, "We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with IHC EB and develop future opportunities, working collaboratively for the benefit of our customers. This agreement also highlights Blyth’s position as a rapidly emerging offshore energy base.”

IHC EB and the Port of Blyth have worked closely together on existing projects and both look forward to developing future opportunities
