Twelve Ocean Installer colleagues came together on Sunday 18th May 2014 to compete in the Baker Hughes 10K Race and raise money for local charity, Befriend a Child. The team raised a fantastic amount of £2,035 in the process and donations are still coming in now.

Managing Director of Ocean Installer UK, Martin Sisley said "We decided to participate in the Baker Hughes 10K to celebrate two years in Aberdeen for the company and are delighted to have supported Befriend a Child in the process, which does such great work for the local community”.

Mr. Sisley also participated in the race, along with fellow colleagues Leigh Mathieson, Gillian Sharp, Leanne Watt, Tom Smith, Gregor Scott, Vahid Walker, Julie Ramsey, Roger Walton, Martin Shaw, Matteo Mosca and Charlotte Middleton.

Ocean Installer is a subsea company headquartered in Stavanger, with offices in Aberdeen and Houston. The Aberdeen office was opened two years ago, and today counts 60 employees. Established in 1975, Befriend A Child is Scotland’s oldest befriending service for disadvantaged children. By being provided an adult role model, the child experiences reliability, caring and trust which in turn combine to improve their confidence, social skills and help give them the solid grounding required to grow into mature, responsible adults. The scheme became a registered charity in 1991 and in 2012 worked with more than 200 children in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire – its largest number to date.
