EPC Offshore and Xcite Energy Join Forces on Bentley Development

17 December 2012

Concept development and project management specialist EPC Offshore has signed an agreement with Aberdeen-based Xcite Energy Resources Ltd to provide support services at one of the largest undeveloped fields in the North Sea.

A heavy oil reservoir located 160 kilometres east of the Shetland Islands on the western edge of the Viking Graben, the Bentley field covers an area of approximately 70 square kilometres with an estimated 550 MMstb in place.

EPC Offshore will provide project management and associated support services for the project.

"Within the UK Continental Shelf, as well as Xcite’s Bentley field, there are a number of other heavy oil projects moving towards development, namely the Mariner, Bressay and Kraken fields, and weare delighted to have been chosen to support the selection of the optimum concept for developing this dynamic project.

"We have a proven track record for delivering on major developments for our clients through our work on a number of UK fields and this new partnership with Xcite really cements our position as the people who turn opportunities into assets and provide significant value to our clients.”
