TechnipFMC, a global leader in subsea, onshore/offshore and surface projects has lent its support to Westhill Academy through the donation of reflective light-up armbands.

Safety is one of TechnipFMC’s foundational beliefs and in pursuance of this, and to encourage safety in the local community, the reflective bands were presented to stage 1-3 pupils, to help make them visible during their commute to school during the dark winter months.

James Paterson, Vice-President Subsea Projects UK, TechnipFMC, said: "We have partnered with Westhill Academy many times throughout the years and are thrilled to be contributing once again, this time towards the safety of youngsters in the local community through the donation of these reflective armbands. As a cyclist myself, it is important to remain visible to others during winter, especially when travelling to and from school.”

Alison Reid, Head Teacher, Westhill Academy, added: "I would like to thank TechnipFMC for their generous donation of these reflective armbands. A large number of our pupils either walk or cycle to school, and the armbands will help keep pupils safe during the darker winter months as well as encouraging them to take gentle exercise before and after school. I am very grateful to TechnipFMC for the continued support they have given Westhill Academy over the years.”
