SDI Oil & Gas Trade Mission to Angola

SDI Oil & Gas Trade Mission to Angola

01-05 July 2019

Are you interested in the business opportunities in Angola?
Scottish Development International (SDI) in partnership with Department for International Trade (DIT) and the UK Angola Chamber of Commerce is organising a trade mission to Angola, to investigate the opportunities available to the Scottish oil and gas supply chain.  The mission will provide companies with the opportunity gain first-hand experience of the markets, meet potential customers/partners and access a wide range of experts in all aspects of doing business in Angola. We are still working on providing exact details of the hotel, flight and 5-day program arrangements; however, we consider it essential that visa applications for Angola begin for confirmed participants as soon as possible. To that effect, I have attached a letter of invitation form from DIT Luanda, which participants should complete and return as soon as possible.

Opportunities
Since taking office, President João Lourenço's and the new government has started an overhaul of Angola's oil and gas sector by creating a new oil and gas regulator, the National Oil and Gas Agency, thereby redefining (and narrowing) Sonangol's role to that of a national oil and gas company only. The reforms to date signal that a genuine effort to bring change to the country's public administration and business environment.

The key market opportunities include:

1. High quality, cost-saving and operations’ optimization technology solutions.
2. Exploration and production equipment and services
3. Environmental protection and monitoring technologies

The local business environment is such that Scottish companies are strongly advised to have local partners - this trade mission can help the companies find appropriate partners.
