Explore Opportunities in Nova Scotia
With the support of the World Energy Cities Partnership (WECP) and the Halifax Partnership, Aberdeen City Council is organised a trade mission to Halifax, Nova Scotia. The mission will coincide with the WECP Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Core Energy Conference. Associated events will form part of the programme.
WECP will bring together the Mayors of the world’s 19 energy cities to collectively drive and shape the global energy sector. This partnership performs a vital role, finding creative, effective and innovative solutions to the challenges of the cities.
Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is the economic centre and energy hub for Canada’s east coast. There are various ongoing and future offshore oil and gas projects and Shell and BP alone are investing $2 billion in oil and gas exploration projects offshore Nova Scotia. Halifax’s energy sector is also filled with renewable resource opportunities in wind, hydroelectricity and tidal development. The Core Energy Conference will showcase this Atlantic Canada market and bring together the region’s key decision makers to discuss project updates and regional industry developments.
